31 Days of Down syndrome Awareness - Day 3

Typically it is Riley in the hot seat but today Rex got to hop up there.  Poor kid caught his brothers cold and just can't kick it.  When he called from school needing to come home I knew he was serious when I reminded him if he came home he couldn't go to football practice and he didn't care.  He just wanted to go home.  We always worry a bit more when Rex gets it because the smallest sniffle goes straight to his lungs.   Thankfully his asthma is very mild because the coughing is horrible.  He is moving air just fine so the maintenance inhaler is working.  A little extra albuterol and a round of antibiotics to kill the germs that started this nonsense and he will be good as gold.

Thankfully this kid is the best sickie I know.  Fingers crossed that this cough doesn't stay with him all winter.   Its pretty early for this junk to hit him.

Riley doesn't like it when big brother doesn't feel good.  He is very concerned about the coughing and wants to give him things to make him feel better.  It is quite exciting that Rex has medicine just like his.  Who knew amoxicillin could be so much fun.  All I can say is thank goodness we are done with the stinky pink liquid medicine and these boys can take a pills.  Even GIANT pills.

Thankfully Rex is past the mask.  The inhaler is so much easier.
